Leonard Verni, Where’s the Valor?
After
WWII and the Korean War, the United States fell into a hard hippy and anti-war/government
movement. Never has there been a time
that has seen the complete disregard for returning troops like hardened souls
of the Vietnam Vets. These combat
veterans went to war because their country asked/told them to. They fulfilled their duties in the best way
they know how, and that was by protecting the men to their left and right. We are finally in an era where the general
population of America knows how to separate war from the troops. Companies are opening their hiring processes
to veterans, discounts can be found at almost any retail shop, and many
companies spend thousands of dollars to help fund veteran charities. Unfortunately, we have asshats that take
advantage of these amazing generosities because they don’t have the balls to
really earn the respect America has for troops.
They are the people who have never put one leg into the uniform under a foreign
sky (our sky for that matter), they are basic training flunkies, and they are despicable. They are not despicable because they couldn’t
handle the military. It’s not for everyone. And those who live the rest of their life not
lying about their failure, deserve some credit.
But these clowns fabricate military experience for personal gain. Whether it be for respect, jobs, or free petroleum
jelly at Wally World. It hurts the validity
of real men and women who spend countless hours, days, and years away from
family and friends that try to make it in the work force outside of the
military. Many companies have stopped
discounts, and are even starting to get a stigma about hiring military veterans.
I’ve seen the random call-outs on social media of Stolen Valor
clown getting caught trying to gain free crap at various places. Sometimes I even get a little “what-the-fuckish”
at the way things are handled between the veteran and the moose knuckle. But they do need to be called out for what
they are lying turds looking for free hand outs that cost companies’
money. Sounds like stealing to me?
Now we come to why I have written this rant, and let’s talk
about a guy who I personally formed a good professional working bond with. A guy who was supposed to have my back when
the proverbial shit hit the fan. While
on a Top Security Contract, this guy comes in with praise from a couple of the
other guys who worked for a different company that merged with ours. This dude did it all; SWAT Instructor, FBI Something
or other Instructor, NAVAL Special Operations, SWCC, Combat Diver, and Linguist
with overseas deployments where he learned Krav Maga while in Israel. After a month of working with this clown, it
started to become very evident he was full of shit. And not with just the military, but
EVERYTHING. Even caught this guy hanging
up his cell phone, then immediately start talking down to the person on the
other side. So, I started digging around
with other co-workers (many of them I served with) for insight. They had other stories that didn’t match
either. I reached out to some contacts
that eventually put me in touch with some dudes over at Military Phonies. We started our investigation with everything
I knew, and they said they would find the truth. And boy did they dig up some skeletons.
He was a
cop. That wasn’t a lie. But he did get fired for nefarious
reasons. He was in the Navy and served
right around 18-20 months. His records
show no BUDS training, no combat diver training, no SWCC, no language school,
no deployments, and no other form of Naval Special Warfare. There is even a thread on SOCNET from 2011
with someone questioning this nose picker’s qualifications. Military Phonies quoted, “An individual named
Lee Verni, who works for the St Martin Sheriff’s Department in Louisiana claims
to have been a SEAL. This is the information I have – he graduated from BUD/S
class 108 which he said graduated in 1988” (2017). Google “BUDS Class 108” and you don’t even
get information on SEAL training… The first damn suggestion is people asking
about Leonard. For perspective, BUDS
Class 108 was around 1981. Leonard is in
his early to mid-40’s. He’s a bad ass if
he finished BUDS at 9 years old.
The fact of this matter is Leonard spent the better part of
his life using Stolen Valor for personal gain.
He obtained lucrative security contracting jobs that places others’
lives in his hands. So, what did we
learn today boys and girls? Don’t be that guy!
